The cast and crew of the forthcoming romantic comedy, "Jab We Met", were in for an unexpected but pleasant surprise while shooting for a colorful dance sequence in Manali (a hill station in North-India).
Actress Kareena Kapoor's star sister, Karisma, dropped in with her daughter, Samaira.
The gorgeous actress in a touching gesture prayed to a camera unit and bonded well with everyone from Kareena to lead actor Shahid Kapur, director Imtiaz Ali and even her mentor (into dancing) and ace choreographer, Saroj Khan. Karisma even saw all of Kareena's scenes on the monitor with a smile on her face!

SHAHID-KAREENA after giving theirbest in soundtracks like in fida, 36 chinatown, chupchupke In Jab We Met, one looks forward to yet another young soundtrack in the offering. A reasonable expectation since the composer at the helm is Pritam, Irshad Kamil is the lyricist whereas Imtiaz Ali, the man behind Socha Na Tha holds the baton as a director. "Mika can assure himself of yet another hit track. The moment 'Mauja Hi Mauja' begins, you know that an instant chartbuster is right up there for the team of Jab We Met. Images of Shahid and Kareena jiving to this instantly catchy number only adds on to the song's advantage.
Write your own music review of Jab We Met A 'masala' track that has just the right recipe of 'bhangra' beats, Punjabi-Western arrangements and some very spirited singing by Mika, 'Mauja Hi Mauja' is a song of all times with plug-it-on-and-dance flavor that is applicable for dance floors as much as a marriage celebration. The 'remix version' comes at the very end and keeps the spunk on for the album from beginning till the end. "Just as one would have started believing Jab We Met to be an out and out popcorn entertainer with some ready-to-serve peppy tracks, there comes an extremely pleasant surprise in the form of 'Tum Se Hi'. Now this is a track where Irshad Kamil gets his poetry in motion even as Mohit Chauhan gets a 'journey' feel on through his silken touch to the rendition. If you have loved Pritam's compositions in Life In A Metro, Tum Se Hiis a song which is simply irresistible to let go! The number may not be the kind that a music lover may sing around the town but if you are in mood to play a song on a long drive or just want to relax with the lights switched off and remembering the one you love most, 'Tum Se Hi' is a song waiting to make it's presence felt. This is easily one of the best composed, arranged, written and rendered song of the year and is a must hear for the lovers of soothing melodies. On paper, it is criminal for a song like 'Tum Se Hi' to make an appearance in a 'remix version'. One dread to think how would a simple track like this may sound with added beats? Thankfully, there is no damage done even in this version as there is just an added spark to the way the remix is presented which only gives a music lover to pick from! Remember the hit number 'Roop Suhana Lagta Hai' [Gentleman, starring: Chiranjeevi, Juhi Chawla]? The beats from the song are used as a base for 'Yeh Ishq Hai'. A kind of number for which there would not have been any debate for roping in Sunidhi Chauhan, 'Yeh Ishq Hai' has Shreya Ghoshal singing the song instead. And doesn't she come up with fantastic results from the first note itself for this song that does remind one of the style of Pritam's own 'Mahiya' [Awarapan]? A young number that goes perfectly well with Kareena's image, 'Yeh Ishq Hai' has a flavor of folk music interspersed with modern day arrangements which creates an entirely different feel. The echo effect added to Shreya's voice makes the song further ear pleasing while the sheer variety of instruments (authentic and electronic) come together to make 'Yeh Ishq Hai' yet another track which go all the way due to it's mass appeal. Later there comes a 'remix version' of 'Yeh Ishq Hai'. This time around, the arrangements stay on to be completely Western, though one doesn't mind that at all as Jab We Met only continues it's fun ride with every passing song. " Soon there is a follow up to 'Mauja Hi Mauja' as yet another track soaked in 'bhangra' flavor arrives in the form of 'Nagada Nagada Nagada Baja'. A full on beats number that doesn't have a nanosecond of empty space in it's 4 minutes duration, the song has Sonu Nigam singing with full gusto and refusing to take a breather. No, there isn't anything novel here that you get to hear here but it is that instantly catchy and recollection factor which makes 'Nagada' a number that doesn't do any harm to the album. Expect this song also to add on to the list of DJ favorites for celebration times, even though one can't help but remember Sonu's own 'Ishq Vishq Mein Pyaar Vyaar Mein Number One Punjabi' [Chorit Chori Chupke Chupke]. After all the fun and 'dhamaal' comes a track which belongs to the kind that Pritam would have loved to compose in each of his films. 'Aao Milo Chalo' is yet another road track after 'Tum Se Hi' and promises to make a very good impact when played in the background. Dipped in melody, the song is rendered in a way only Shaan can and it is good to hear him croon a lovable number which has innocence written all over it. A track about two youngsters on a journey together and enjoying every moment of the journey ahead, it also has a surprise thrown in when Ustad Sultan Khan makes a brief appearance for an 'aalaap'. 'Aao Milo', just like 'Tum Se' has an immense ear pleasing value to it that adds on to the collection of your car favorites for a long ride. If you have liked lounge music with an Indian classical touch, chances are high that you would lap up 'Aaoge Jab Tum' too. Crooned by Ustad Rashid Khan, this melodious track has some sensitive writing by Irshad Kamil. The song is put to tune by guest composer Sandesh Shandilya who was responsible for the soundtrack of Socha Na Tha. 'Aaoge Jab Tum' has an old world charm to it which makes one remember the songs from films directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee or Gulzar. Put it on repeat mode and switch off the lights; you would surely have a peaceful night ahead. The best is reserved for the end as the 'Theme music' turns out to be an elaborate 5 minutes piece which makes you give two thumbs up to the album. An oriental touch to the sound of flute which plays throughout the musical piece makes you remember 'My Heart Will Go On' [Titanic]. Also coming together of chorus and an extensive orchestra creates a grand impact, something which has been a hallmark of music from Karan Johar films. Expect this piece to make a very good impact if it plays in the opening title sequence or as a background score. In 2007, Pritam may have been come up with good music in number of films such as Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Awarapan, Hattrick, Kya Love Story Hai and Just Married. But if there is one album that impresses most after Life...In A Metro and turns out to be most satisfying experience, it is Jab We Met. The album is a perfect example of how to get a quality soundtrack which mixes songs for different segments of audience. One which is looking for instant chartbusters to tap the feet on [Mauja Hi Mauja, Yeh Ishq Hai, Nagada Nagada] and another which feasts on music that is as peaceful and soothing as it gets [Tum Se Hi, Aao Milo Chalo, Aaoge Jab Tum, Theme music]. KAREENA VISITS SA RE GA MA PA SETS&HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES

Kareena Kapoor visited the sets of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa this week to promote her forthcoming film Jab We Met and launched her film’s music. It was double joy for her as the team also celebrated her birthday which falls on Friday, September 21. To find out more about the episode we spoke to one of the contestants Amanat.
He told us, “She cut her birthday cake on the sets. I dedicated a song to her which was picturised on her grandfather Raj Kapoor - pyaar hua ikraar hua. Raj ji was from Lahore and so am I. When I finished the song she felt so emotional that she literality had tears in her eyes and stood up and clapped for me.”
Amanat goes on add, “Second time when I went on stage, I sang you are my soniya. She joined me on stage, shook a leg with me and told me ‘you are mind blowing’. I gifted her a salwar kameez which is a specialty of Lahore and asked her to open it immediately. She liked it and thanked me.” He further says, “While she was leaving the set, Himesh asked her to wait and requested her to dance with Aneek saying ‘bacha khush ho jayega’. This week Sumeeda from Bappi Lahiri’s Josh gharana got eliminated. She was the last contestant left in Bappi’s gharana. The Kareena special episode will be aired on Saturday.

HRITHIK'S GRUDGE AGAINST AKHTARS

Hrithik Roshan is HAVING a grudge against the Akhtars which is why he has been giving them a tough time lately. Looks like their child hood freindship may come to an end A source very close to the Dhoom 2 star told us, “It all started with Dil Chahta Hai (2001). Farhan had promised Hrithik, the role of Sid, the most mature amongst the three friends in the film. The time when Farhan was planning his directorial debut, he had assured Hrithik that he will be casting him along with Aamir Khan and Saif Ali Khan but for that he needed to wait a little more as Farhan was also busy with the production planning of the film." "An anxious Hrithik kept waiting for months without even asking Farhan once about the development with the film. He was later surprised to hear it from industry insiders that the casting of the film was already announced – Aamir, Saif and Akshaye Khanna in the role of Sid that was promised to him. Roshan Jr. was hurt but kept quiet. Farhan then made up for it by casting Hrithik in a solo lead in his next, Lakshya (2004). Hrithik's act was widely appreciated in the film and the childhood pals decided to follow it up with one more film together." the source continues. "Farhan had hit upon the idea of re-making one of his dad's (Javed Akhtar) strongest scripts, Don. While devising the film's screenplay, Farhan and Hrithik sat together many times using each other as a bouncing board for their creative inputs for the remake. When the final draft was just about to be completed, Farhan realized the title role (a double role) required an actor who was a little older in age. But since he had already committed this part to the Krrish star he was in a dilemma what to do about it.” “Shah Rukh Khan meanwhile, was aware of Farhan working on the originally Bachchan starrer remake and when he heard through common pals about Farhan's confusion, he immediately volunteered to act in the film. The King Khan actually convinced him how he could do a better job as the new Don. Farhan too realized the market proportions of the film multiplying manifold once the super star was in the project. He yet again ditched his old buddy for another actor. Hrithik was extremely upset and more than that very hurt by Farhan's act. He kept mum and concentrated on his Koi Mil Gaya sequel and Dhoom 2. During this time Farhan went to him for a small cameo in Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd which he was producing. But Hrithik took 4 months to say NO, following which Arjun Rampal was cast for this part. Just then Krrish and Dhoom 2 released and not only went on to become the biggest hits of the year (2006) but also catapulted him into the big league," adds the source. "Now it was his turn to get back at Farhan for what he had done not once but twice to him. He took it all out on Farhan's sister, Zoya's directorial debut, Luck By Chance which was being produced by Farhan's company Excel Entertainment. He had earlier made sure they were kept hanging in anticipation for a long time and then he delivered the final blow recently by opting out of it after making them go through several changes in the script to accommodate him. The Jodhaa Akbar star doesn't believe in verbal backlash but lets his actions do the talking and he proved it by paying the Akhtars back in the same coin," concludes the source.

SHAHID'S SUPRIZE FOR BEBO

Shahid Kapur has planned a birthday surprise for girlfriend Kareena Kapoor. He is presently in Toronto shooting for Aziz Mirza's Lucky Charm with Vidya Balan but is all set to return to Mumbai before schedule so that he can be a part of Kareena's birthday celebrations.




A co-actor of Shahid's from the film informs us from Toronto, "Shahid has decided to reach Mumbai on September 20, a day before Kareena's 27th birthday. He has spoken about this to Azizji and both are currently working towards completing his portions faster. This weekend was supposed to be an off for the unit but considering Shahid's urgency, the shooting will be on. Though Shahid comes back, the rest of the unit including Vidya Balan remain back and return only during the first week of October."



"Shahid plans to be present with Kareena as the clock strikes 12. He also will be spending the entire day with her, followed by a big bash in the evening arranged by him and Karishma at the latter's newly purchased sea-facing apartment in Bandra's Carter Road area," his co-actor reveals.

"We have seen him shopping for the last 4 days for his girlfriend. Even the Heyy Babyy starlet had joined him for one day for helping him out. Kareena is a gizmo freak and Shahid has purchased a lot of them for her. For himself too he has got a lot of foreign language films that he is a big fan of. He was telling us, these films are rare to find in Mumbai and he generally orders them from net. But in Toronto he found this shop that has the rarest and best such film titles," says the co-actor before signing off.

Adds a close friend of Shahid from the industry, "With the news of his affair gone kaput doing the rounds in Bollywood circles, Shahid also intends to shut up the rumour mongers who had linked Saif with his girl and called it a reason for their break off. He will definitely be making sure the photos of them celebrating the birthday together are out everywhere so that the speculations about their separation finally stop."

Shahid – Kareena starrer, Jab We Met is set for release on October 19. The film's promos are being enjoyed by the audience and the industry buzz is strong that the film will finally break the jinx the couple carries with regards to their on screen pairing. Even the likes of acclaimed filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap ( Black Friday) are terming it a film to watch out for this year. >

HRITHIK OPTS OUT OF KISMET TALKIES

Hrithik Roshan has upset his BEST FRIEND Farhan Akhtar's family. He had AGREED to do Farhan's sister, Zoya's directorial debut film, Kismet Talkies but now he has opted out of the film after keeping her hanging for 2 years.
A Bollywood source informs, "The Akhtars are naturally very upset with the Dhoom 2 star but are too dignified to be verbal about it. When he was first offered the film, he took a long time to say yes. Then with the superstardom which he achieved post Krrish and Dhoom 2, he approached them saying he would like to have certain suitable changes to be made in the script to fit his new larger than life, superhero image. He had also hinted at changing the heroine (Kareena Kapoor) opposite him." Zoya reworked (also taking dad Javed Akhtar's help) the complete script in a few months time and again went back to Hrithik, but also stood firm on her decision to cast Kareena in the film. Yet again the Jodhaa Akbar star wasted her time and did not give his final commitment. “Just last week he told both Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, who were going to produce this film, that he is not interested in the project anymore. Also, since the Jodhaa Akbar shoot has been postponed, his dates diary has gone awry. He wouldn't be able to adjust anything because Krish 2 is scheduled to follow, going on the sets soon," adds the source. A very close source to Hrithik admits, "He will not be working in Zoya Akhtar's Kismat Talkies. He had liked the script, post the changes but the role was appearing more mature than his age. All these dates which he had in mind to allot to Zoya's film will now be given to dad, Rakesh Roshan's Krrish sequel. He and Farhan know each other too well and have done Lakshya together so Farhan we are sure will understand it and not hold any grudges against him."

The Shahid - Kareena split doing the rounds definitely appear to be rumours as we discovered while probing further into it. There were talks about the couple's three-year affair coming to an end following Kareena's new found affection for her Tashan co-star Saif Ali Khan.
Shahid's mother, actress Neelima Azim tells, "He is in regular touch with me from Canada but has never spoken about this topic to me. It is a serious thing if true. But I hope there is nothing like that." Shahid best friend from the industry and director of his last release, Fool N Final, Ahmed Khan, also assured us, "This split stuff is all untrue. Their relationship is based on a strong foundation called trust. I guess when he is back from abroad, they both shall clarify this." The couple's next release, Jab We Met director, Imtiaz Ali claims to have no knowledge about this matter. From Canada with love Shahid has been in Canada for over a month now shooting for Aziz Mirza's Lucky Charm co-starring Vidya Balan. He has been regularly seen speaking to Kareena on the phone by his unit members. A co-actor working with him in the film there revealed to us, "We haven't noticed any change in Shahid's behaviour. He has been his jolly self all throughout the shoot till now. Even after the news of his so-called split with Bebo came out 10-12 days back, there has been no change. Keeping in mind the India-Canada time difference, we see him awake till late in the night so that he gets to speak as much he can on phone to her. Even if that leads to getting scolded the next day on sets by Azizji for not appearing fresh, Shahid does it almost daily. Also just 2-3 days back he was laughing his heart out on the sets teasing Vidya over her 15 kg weight loss for this role to match as a couple with him. May be Shahid is the greatest actor in the world who can show no sign of heartbreak or he is confident that what is being written about his affair gone kaput is all nonsense." The co-star also reveals, "We have often heard him saying that Jab We Meet is one of his finest films and will be a sure shot big hit, breaking the jinx attached to the couple as a pair on screen." Saif players "Ironically since the time the news was out that Saif is the third angle in the Shahid-Bebo affair, one has never seen him even once with Kareena hanging out anywhere. Post the Tashan schedule of Jaisalmer which ended around two weeks back, Saif has been busy paying more attention to his new 'good friend' Bipasha, visiting her on her ad film shoot sets and partying with her. Bebo, who had been to Jodhpur after her Tashan schedule to shoot an ad film co-starring Karan Johar, too has not been noticed anywhere, barring one brand endorsement event after coming back. Her public appearances have drastically reduced. Surprisingly she has also stopped visiting her favourite food joints. Normally she makes a point to visit at least once a week," informs a Bollywood source.

SYNOPSIS:.:>

TASTY SPINACH PASTA

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
3/4 cup butter
1 clove garlic, minced
3 tbsp. chopped onion
3/4 lb. fresh or frozen spinach, drained and coarsely chopped
1 lb. green or white fettucine noodles
1-1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup heavy cream
Pepper
1. In a medium-sized skillet, melt half the butter and add the garlic and onion. Cook until golden but not browned. Add the spinach and partially cover the pan until the spinach had heated through. 2. Meanwhile, cook the noodles according to the package directions. Drain the pasta and return it to the pot. Toss it with the remaining butter, the spinach mixture, cheese, and cream until all are blended and heated through. Makes 6 servings.

On Raksha Bandhan Day, Indiatimes Movies brought together filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Kareena Kapoor to cherish a wonderful moment and relationship. "I miss having siblings," confesses Karan, "I wish I was either the younger of two brothers or then an elder brother to a sister. I would have liked to protect or be protected. Siblings have a great childhood – there is interaction, fun, and then of course you get to claw and paw each other... But that's all part of the growing up process and I missed it totally. But now, my friends are my family." Kareena, on the other hand, isn't an only child. She has the lovely Karisma Kapoor for a sister. But does she miss having a brother? "Yes, maybe sometimes I do, but Karisma fills in every void in my life – she is a brother, a sister, a friend... She is like my right arm!" About rakhi incidents when they were younger, Bebo narrates, "When Lolo and I were kids, we may have tied rakhis to a few boys just for the fun of it, but we grew out of it very quickly. Besides, I'd rather have boys as friends than brothers." Karan takes on from there: "Once I walked into the house with my hand full of rakhis and I was so excited about the fact that I was the only boy from my class who had thirty rakhis while the others had only five or six... Mom tried to explain to me that that wasn't a great thing, but I wouldn't understand. I was happy that everyone wanted to make me their rakhi brother. I used to like the flashy, big, ugly rakhis - with those foils and pinks... all my aesthetics went out of the window," he laughs. "Karan isn't like my brother, he is my brother," insists Kareena, "He is a friend, a guide and someone I can pour my heart out to even at 3:00 a.m. He is a man of honour and strength, and conducts himself with so much dignity. That's what I like about him. When he walks into a room he brings bundles of energy and positivity. That's why he is Karan Johar today. " About her, Johar says, "Yes, I would've loved to have a younger sister like Bebo. She is mad, crack, spontaneous, impulsive, honest and makes me laugh. I don't like normal people who don't have a sense of humour and who are not stupid and funny, the way Bebo is. She totally makes the cut of what I would've liked my younger sister to be." Now for some brotherly and sisterly advice to each other on Raksha Bandhan... "Keep your head on your shoulders always, Bebo! And anything good or anything bad should always be met with the same kind of positive energy," counsels Karan. Bebo doesn't have any advice to give the 'ideal brother'. In fact she says, "Karan, I just want to always be there for you and thank you for all the times you've heard me out. Whenever I am in a cranky or crabby mood, you always listen and give me the right advice. So a big Thank you to you on this special day!" What rakhi present would Kareena like to receive on the auspicious occasion? "I love diamonds, so anything in diamonds would be great," she says promptly, smiling. And to this the very witty Karan replies, "I am a 'gem' of a brother, right? And I'm all yours!"
